FIREFIGHTER (HAZMAT TECH/EMT)

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized fire department or brigade; 2) Conducting rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; and 4) Controlling hazardous material incidents. NOTE:

This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications at the GS-07:
Fire Fighter II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician, HAZMAT Operations. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC, or Pro-Board to meet the requirement. The following certification is also required:
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic Life Support (NREMT-B), this certification must have been awarded by the National Registry. If you do not possess all of the above certifications you will be rated ineligible. (Note:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
